Peter Cougle was born in Melbourne.
He has been a practitioner associated with the arts for 40 years Peter has been painting, drawing, and making photographs and pottery in the Ballarat region and throughout Victoria for more than 30 years. His work concerns the human figure and the Australian environment. Background Peter studied painting and drawing for many years with a variety of teachers and at a variety of arts locations, including: Alan Martin, Eltham portrait painter Units of Photography, chemistry, ceramics, design and drawing at BCAE now Federation University Life drawing, Art Gallery of Ballarat, Sebastopol Drawing Group Maine Images Group, Castlemaine Life Models Association, Princess Hill The Art Room, Footscray.
